I will be lost in San Diego!

Yippie!!! I secured my exchange student spot at SDSU... but I need to find out more about that area I'm in!!! I need to search for suitable housing (many didn't recommend living in the Halls simply because its way ex... with the lame, yet compulsory food plans)... Gaaah... so if you're a San Diegan, I need your advice!
